Research Data Management Helpdesk

In many areas of science research data are both the basis and result of the scientific work. According to the DFG-Guidelines for the Handling of Research DataExternal link, research data are data that arise during a research process or are part of the research results. A responsible, open approach to research data contributes significantly to ensuring good scientific practice, promotes transparence and reproducibility of results, and therefore benefits not least the researcher himself.

We offer advice on the following topics:

  • Creating a data management plan
  • Documentation and quality management of research data
  • Publication of research data
  • Storage and archiving of research data

Our services should meet your demand. Please contact us with any concern or suggestion you may have relating to research data management, regardless of which of the university's departments you belong to or at which point in your academic career you are. We work together closely with the university's computer center and Thuringia's state library, as well as other central service entities of the university, and strive to bring together the right partners.

Since 2021 the Research Data Management Helpdesk is part of the Competence Center Digital Research (zedif)External link at the Michael-Stifel Center JenaExternal link.
